HERE i AM AT WORK
THIS IS WHERE I NOW LIVE
The State school excursion and picnic at
Maldon yesterday was a most enjoyable one,
and was attended by almost 1000 persons. The
first train having started sooner than expected,
even before the carriage doors were all closed,
a few persons who were trying to get all the
children in were left behind. Some indignation
is felt at this disappointment, because the acting
stationmaster caused the train to be started
without having the bell rung and giving the
usual intimation, otherwise all the railway
arrangements for both trains were complete.
The day was beautifully fine, the scene of the
picnic exceptionally good, and Maldon friends
so attentive and kind that everything passed off
pleasantly...................Besides there were the
merry-go-round, swings games and the en-
livening strains of the Foundry Band. The
excursionists all returned about 7:15 in the
evening, fully satisfied with the day’s outing.
